Nabi este un spectrofotometru care poate procesa esantioane lichide in cuvete standard de 1-2 ml, sau microvolume de 0.5 - 2 µl, depuse cu o pipeta clasica pe detector, similar protocollui utilizat pentru NanoDrop.
Este un sistem complet autonom, care nu are nevoie de nici un alt aparat (calculator sau imprimanta) pentru a functiona.
Poate fi utilizat pentru masuratori cantitative si calitative ale concentratiei si puritatii ADN-ului, ARN-ului, proteinelor, a densitatii celulare in cultura, in mod de detectie "End-point", Kinetic sau Spectrum.
