Dexlansoprazole (T 168390, TAK 390,(R)-Lansoprazole), the dextrorotatory enantiomer of lansoprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) formulated to have dual delayed-release properties. Dexlansoprazole selectively suppresses gastric acid secretion by direct inhibition of the H(+),K(+)-ATPaseproton pump in the gastric parietal cell.
