Cariprazine hydrochloride(RGH188 hydrochloride) is a novel antipsychotic agent and is a highly selective partial agonist of dopamineD2 and D3and 5HT1Areceptors, with preferential binding to the D3 receptor. It exhibits high selectivity and affinity to dopamine D3 (Ki = 0.085 nM) and D2 (Ki = 0.49 nM) receptors and has moderate affinity for the 5-HT1A receptor (Ki = 2.6 nM).
