Technical Features
- Ideal for the establishment of long-term cell cultivation under flow: sterile and defined conditions for up to several weeks
- Suitable for the simulation of several types of laminar flow to study cells in various physiological environments:
- Unidirectional laminar flow (e.g., in most healthy biological vessels)
- Pulsatile laminar flow (e.g., in large arteries)
- Oscillatory laminar flow (e.g., as a means of turbulence or disturbed flow simulation in flow chambers)
- Closed tubing system, in which the cell culture medium is moved, for maintainance of sterility
- Minimal mechanical stress (e.g., when keeping single cells or 3D cell aggregates under perfusion for optimal nutrient supply)
- Wide range of flow rates (ca. 0.04–50 ml/min*) and shear stress (ca. 0.01–200 dyn/cm2*) for simulation of all physiological flow patterns
